The first domain represents the planning and preparation that is demonstrated within the classroom setting. Below you will find two artifacts that affirm my knowledge of available resources, my students, and of content and pedagogy. Additionally, the below artifacts will illuminate how this information is used to direct my instructional goals and assessment strategies in the classroom.
The first artifact on this page is an intervention plan created for one of my students. From informal and formal assessments, I identified areas where this student was needing additional support. After communicating my findings with parents and other support staff at the school, an intervention plan was created. This intervention plan reports relevant data and the accommodations that will be made for that student.
The second artifact incorporated under the first domain illuminates my knowledge of content and ability to design assessment. The narrative writing rubric displays the criteria and standards that students must meet. This rubric is lengthy in size; therefore, it was presented in chunks to students. With one area of focus, students were able to review their work carefully and intentionally. This artifact is a clear representation of my capabilities in assessment design and communication of criteria and standards.
